  • Resumen
    • Gamification Apps are becoming more common among the education sector as they offer new opportunities for education, such as the high involvement of students in class. Mainly because these Apps encourage fun and engage the students in the process of their own learning. This paper analyses the use of these formative ICT tools in the education sector by examining the perception among postgraduate students with the gamification App Kahoot! during their lessons. A cross-sectional study involved postgraduate students of four different Master Programs in a French Business School. In this study the App Kahoot! was used by 134 postgraduate students in three lectures (Mobile Marketing, Strategic Management, Social Media Marketing). Multiple-choice questions were displayed on the educator’s screen as a game-quiz, and students had to answer rapidly and accurately on their own mobile devices while music played. Then, a quantitative approach utilizing data from a survey sent to all the students about the App Kahoot! was done in order to know their perception, assertiveness and utility regarding the use of the gamification App. The findings illustrate the experience of the students when introducing the use of Kahoot! in their learning process. The App encouraged the students’ teamwork and collaboration, increased their motivation, encouraged their interest during the course, helped them with their learning goals and was considered as one of the positive and interesting points of each course. Consequently, the gamification App Kahoot! is an encouraging formative ICT tool that contributes towards students' learning process.
