    Se propone aquí el reemplazo del nombre ilegítimo Senecio L. subsect. Radiati Cabrera por Senecio subser. Polyphylli Giuliano, M. P. Hernández & S. E. Freire, nom. nov.; el epíteto del nombre de reemplazo alude a la especie tipo de esta subsección, S. polyphyllus Kunze ex DC. El epíteto Radiati había sido utilizado previamente porBentham para designar una serie de Senecio.

    Senecio L. subsect. Radiati Cabrera, an illegitimate name, is replaced with the name Senecio subser. Polyphylli Giuliano, M. P. Hernández & S. E. Freire, nom. nov.; the epithet of the replacement name refers to the type species of this subsection, S. polyphyllus Kunze ex DC. The epithet Radiati was previously published by Bentham to designate a series of Senecio.
