  • The French company is seeking to strengthen its Indian offering with the takeover.France-based industrial minerals producer and processor Imerys is expanding its presence in calcium carbonate in the Indian market with the takeover, for an undisclosed sum, of local producer Vimal Microns. In December 2017, Imerys announced that it would introduce price increases for mica, talc and wollastonite from the start of 2018, citing higher costs.Vimal has talc and mica among its portfolio of products, which could extend the company’s scope in ensuring new supply.
