  • Four candidates are in the running to build the plant, with the project expected to start early in the second quarter of 2018.The Bolivian government will select one of four companies to proceed with an investment plan for a lithium carbonate production plant in the southwest of the country by the end of February. Interest in investing in lithium projects has boomed since the end of 2015 due to the rapid increase in the price of the metal, which reflects strong demand from the battery industry.
