    • [...]prices were higher than $1,500 per tonne, with Iluka Resources reportedly selling for more than $2,000 per tonne before dropping the price to $1,885 per tonne through October and Rio Tinto selling in a range of $1,800-2,000 per tonne. Since this time, prices have more or less plateaued until the recently announced pricing changes. The spot prices for lithium carbonate (min 99% Li2CO3), technical and industrial grades, ex-works domestic China, also fell, moving down to 155,000-160,000 yuan per tonne on January 4 from 160,000-165,000 yuan per tonne on December 21. [...]the technical and industrial grades of lithium hydroxide monohydrate (min 56.5% LiOH.H2O) showed minimal spot market activity, remaining at 140,000-145,000 yuan per tonne, while the price of lithium hydroxide monohydrate battery-grade material was also static because of the seasonal holiday, remaining at 145,000-150,000 yuan per tonne. The spot price for lithium carbonate (min 99% L2CO3) technical and industrial grade, cif China, Japan and South Korea, remained at $16.50-18.50 per kg while the lithium carbonate (min 99.5% Li2CO3) battery grade spot price cif China, Japan and South Korea, was similarly stable at $18.50-20.00 per kg, according to Industrial Minerals’ market assessment on January 4. The price of lithium hydroxide monohydrate (min 56.5% LiOH.H2O) technical and industrial grades also showed no change, staying at $18.50-20.00 per kg while the price for battery grade lithium hydroxide monohydrate (min 56.5% LiOH.H2O) held at $18.50-21.00 per kg, according to Industrial
