  • The installation of a tabular alumina converter is crucial to ensure continuous expansion in the Indian market.

    Germany-headquartered speciality alumina producer Almatis is expanding the capacity of its plant in Falta, India, as it seeks to expand its presence in the local market.

    A tabular alumina converter will be installed at the facility - which Almatis first opened in 1995 to serve Indian consumers.

    "Making our Falta plant a fully backward integrated tabular production facility expands our tabular capacity and strategically locates production near a growing market that is very important to Almatis' future," Almatis, chief commercial officer, Stefan Rieder said in a statement.

    Indian-produced tabular alumina from the Falta plant is supplied to the local refractory, ceramics and polishing markets.

    Falta is one of 11 production operations Almatis runs worldwide, between Asia, Europe and North America.
