    Los efectos del cambio climático sobre aspectos como el aumento de las temperaturas globales, el descenso de las precipitaciones, el aumento del nivel del mar y la desertificación avanzan y ya comienzan a dejarse sentir en amplias zonas del planeta.

    El norte de África es una de las regiones del globo que más se expone a estas dinámicas, afectando a la seguridad alimentaria de altos porcentajes de la población, y con ella para la propia seguridad de los Estados de la región. Por ello, el presente documento expone un breve análisis del impacto del cambio climático sobre la seguridad alimentaria de los países meridionales del Mediterráneo y la lucha por el agua que podría desatarse en la región.

    The effects of climate change on aspects such as the increase in global temperatures, the decrease in rainfall, the rise of the sea level and desertification are advancing and are beginning to emerge in large areas of the planet. North Africa is one of the regions of the globe that is most exposed to these dynamics and its effects on the food security of high percentages of the population and on the security of the very same states of the region. Therefore, the current document presents an analysis of the impact of climate change on food security in the southern Mediterranean countries and the struggle for water that could be unleashed in the region.
