  • It's a bold claim. Two astronomers think they have spotted messages from not just one extraterrestrial civilization, but 234 of them. In 2012, Ermanno Borra at Laval University in Quebec Canada, suggested that an alien civilization might use a laser for interstellar communication. If the little green men flashed a laser towards Earth like a strobe light, they would see periodic bursts hidden in the spectrum of their host star.
