Maritimidad y turismo en la Habana: una relación para el desarrollo

    Resumen La Habana es una ciudad cuya condición marítima guarda fuertes potencialidades para el desarrollo del turismo. Ese sector económico ha experimentado un gran crecimiento en los últimos 20 años, y se estima que continúe creciendo a la perspectiva. En el artículo se pretende caracterizar brevemente la actividad turística del país y de la Habana en particular, así como establecer los aspectos más relevantes de la relación maritimidad-turismo en esta ciudad. Para ello se utilizaron la revisión bibliográfica y el método sintético, y en menor medida la observación participante mediante trabajo de campo. Como resultado se contribuye al conocimiento de una relación presente en la mayoría de los asentamientos costeros cubanos.

    Havana is a city with a strong maritime condition that holds potentiality for tourism development. This economic sector has experienced significant growth in the last 20 years, and it is estimated that it will keep growing in the future. This paper aims to characterize the tourist activity in the country and in Havana specifically, the most outstanding aspects of the relationshipmaritime-tourism in this city. Bibliographical revision, the synthetic method and the primary observation in the fieldwork were used. As a result, it contributes to the knowledge of the existing relationship among most of thecoastal Cuban settlements.
