    INTRODUCCIÓN. En este artículo de investigación se estudió el hombre como agente modificador del espacio en condiciones de aridez, ya que él aumenta el proceso erosivo en la región de manera directa, en ese sentido se presenta la realidad, los efectos y recomendaciones para disminuir esta degradación. OBJETIVO. Analizar la acción del hombre como factor modificador del suelo en las regiones áridas y semiáridas del Municipio Andrés Eloy Blanco del Estado Lara; MÉTODO. Se aplicó el método regional para delimitar el espacio con la finalidad de conocer y comprender la dinámica a partir de las actividades humanas y los efectos ambientales; para ello se realizó una investigación documental y posteriormente se verificó a través de imágenes de satélite y la visita de campo. RESULTADOS. Se identificaron los efectos de degradación que ocurren por la acción del hombre, a partir del proceso de extracción de material arcilloso, la cría de animales y siembra de algunos rubros por parte de los habitantes sin la menor formación y/o preparación. DISCUSIÓN Y CONCLUSIONES. Se recomienda formar a los pobladores en el ámbito agrícola y ganadero, así como reflexionar sobre la explotación de la arcilla de manera sustentable en esto ambientes de interés productivo.

    NTRODUCTION.

    In this research article, man was studied as a space - modifying agent in arid conditions, since he increases the erosion process in the region in a direct manner, in this sense the reality, the effects and recommendations to diminish this degradation are p resented.

    OBJECTIVE.

    Analyze the action of man as a soil modifier in the arid and semi - arid regions of the Andrés Eloy Blanco Municipality of Lara State;

    METHOD . The regional method was applied to delimit the space in order to know and understand the dynam ics from human activities and environmental effects; For this purpose, a documentary research was carried out and later it was verified through satellite images and the field visit.

    RESULTS .

    We identified the effects of degradation that occur by the action of man, from the process of extraction of clay material, the breeding of animals and planting of some items by the inhabitants without the least training and / or preparation.

    DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS . It is recommended to educate the inhabitants in the agricultural and livestock field, as well as to reflect on the exploitation of the clay in a sustainable manner in these environments of productive interest
