  La finalitat d’aquest article és exposar, dins els límits que assenyalen les fonts escrites, algunes de les característiques de l’agricultura dels sarraïns, els musulmans descendents dels antics andalusins, en els segles obscurs que precedeixen el seu bateig, l’any 1526. Aquest article forma part d’una recerca més àmplia que abasta el període morisc pròpiament dit, des d’aquesta data fins a la deportació general de 1609, en època de Felip III. Un tema que sembla oportú a l’autor per intentar destacar les mancances que recauen, fruit del desconeixement, sobre aquesta comunitat cultural i les seues relacions amb la cristiana.

  The purpose of this article is to present, within the limits set by our written sources, some of the characteristics of the agricultural practices of "Saracens" –Muslims descended from the ancient Al-Andalus inhabitants–, over the obscure centuries preceding their christening in 1526. This article is a part of a wider research covering the "Moorish" period itself, from that date until the general deportation in 1609, during the reign of Philip III. This is an issue that seems appropriate to the author to try to highlight the shortcomings, born of ignorance, concerning this cultural community and their relationship with the Christian culture.
