Gregorio Prieto (Valdepeñas, Ciudad Real, 1897-1992), pintor por excelencia de la Generación del 27, tomó contacto por primera vez con la espiritualidad de Santo Domingo durante sus diferentes estancias en Oxford en la década de los cuarenta del siglo pasado. Desde entonces, Santo Domingo y su Orden se convertirán en una notable experiencia estética y personal para este artista, siendo frecuentes los temas dominicanos tanto en su obra gráfica como literaria.

Gregorio Prieto (Valdepeñas, Ciudad Real, 1897-1992), quinteessentially painter of the 27th Generation, took his first contact with the spirituality of Santo Domingo during his different stays in Oxford in the decade of forties of the last century. Sce then, Santo Domingo and his Order will become a remarkable aesthetic and personal experience for this artist, with Dominician themes being frequents both in his important graphic and literary work.
