During Franco’s period a very limited number of Italian plays were translated into Spanish, including the classics. In this scenario, the case of Aldo De Benedetti is an exception: almost all his works are published in Spain and sometimes rather than there are in Italy. Besides, most of their performances have a great public success, at least until the late sixties.
