Se pinta e se veste: a segunda pele indígena

    Body painting, for most of the indigenous people who practice it in Brazil, symbolizes a second social and cultural skin, loaded with different effects and meanings, ranging from ethnicity to ethnicity. The purpose of this article is to identify and analyze the people and the bodily paintings of groups that take this act as a major expression of their arts, also understanding the practice as a very peculiar type of attire; and with emphasis on the indigenous people of the Cerrado. In this sense, it is understood that the art of dressing for the indigenous is something beyond beauty, but also seeks for it incessantly; is something far, far beyond the cover of shame, but it can also have that intention in occasional, ritual or even everyday situations, which varies from people to people, from culture to culture, from specific contact histories; is something beyond the cover of the cold or the cooling off in the heat of the long dry times of the Cerrado, and the heat certainly cast the indigenous habitus of being routinely more naked than dressed.

    A pintura corporal, para a maioria dos povos indígenas que a praticam no Brasil, simboliza uma segunda pele social e cultural carregada de sentidos e significados distintos e diversos, variando de etnia para etnia. O objetivo deste artigo é identificar e analisar os povos e as pinturas corporais dos grupos que as tomam como expressão maior de suas artes, interpretando-as também como um tipo muito peculiar de vestimenta, com ênfase nos povos indígenas do Cerrado. Nesse sentido, entende-se que a arte de vestir-se para o indígena ultrapassa a beleza, porém ele busca por ela incessantemente; é algo muito, muito além do cobrirem-se as vergonhas, mas pode ter essa intenção em situações eventuais, rituais ou ainda cotidianas, o que varia de povo para povo, de cultura para cultura, das histórias de contato específicas; é algo além do cobrir-se do frio ou do refrescar-se diante do calor dos longos tempos de seca do Cerrado, e o calor certamente moldou o habitus indígena de estar rotineiramente mais despido que vestido.
