    En el ámbito nacional e internacional ciencia y tecnología ofrecen al periodismo un mundo extenso de novedades que están aún por explorarse. El autor enfatiza la necesidad de que la ciencia y la tecnología tengan un tratamiento divulgativo, informativo y de opinión. Señala a los periodistas y a las instituciones que han hecho periodismo científico en Venezuela, en qué ha consistido la divulgación científica realizada y las limitaciones encontradas dentro de los medios de comunicación. considera que las escuelas de Comunicación Social se han dado cuenta de que tienen que preparar profesionales en esta especialidad, por lo que se requiere una maestría con duración de dos años que canalice las actividades de pregrado. En el país ya varias universidades han estudiado esta posiblidad y se han acudido a organismos internacionales como la UNESCO para conseguir ese objetivo.

    At a national and international level, science and technology offer journalism an extense world of novelties that are not yet exploites. The author stesses the necessity that science and technology be given divulgatory treatment, informative or of opinion type. He indicates the journalists and the institutions that have made scientific journalism in Venezuela, in what has consisted the scientific divulgation that has been made, the limitations inside the media. He considers that the schools of Social Communication have understood that they must prepare professionals in this speciality, being required a master with a duration of two years that could direct the activities of graduated studies. In the country some universities have thought this possibility, recurring to international organisms like UNESCO to attain this objective.
