Queremos contribuir con esta breve investigación al conocimiento de una parte más del discurrir de la vida cotidiana en la ciudad de Murcia. La cárcel formaba parte de la estructura judicial del gobierno municipal y por ello siempre, por poco que sea, está presente entre los asuntos del concejo. Me centraré en esta ocasión en su mantenimiento a través de dos fuentes principales: las Actas Capitulares y los Libros de Mayordomo del concejo de Murcia, destacando las limitaciones que imponían el resto de los gastos y obligaciones financieras a las necesidades para el correcto desarrollo de la labor coercitiva de la cárcel.

We want to contribute with this brief investigation to the knowledge of a part of the course of life in the city of Murcia. The jail was part of the judicial structure of the municipal government and therefore always, however little, is present among the affairs of the council. I will focus on this occasion in its maintenance through two main sources: the Capitulate Acts and the Books of Butler of the council of Murcia, highlighting the limitations that imposed the rest of the expenses and financial obligations to the needs for the correct development of the Coercive work of the prison.
