This article aims to show how the European Union has been overwhelmed with the current refugee crisis, unable to cope with this massive influx of people, whose actions and decisions by the leaders of the main Member States have not been effective and satisfactory, demonstrating the weakness of its foreign policy, its values and the mechanism of free movement of persons; all with the ultimate aim of proposing mechanisms for resolving these problems, which are far from any national solution outside of cooperation and integration.
