    Resumen: El artículo analiza la manera en que las mujeres rarámuri, al recurrir a la dimensión cultural de la etnicidad, están abriéndose nuevos espacios de participación en la vida colectiva de los asentamientos ubicados en la ciudad de Chihuahua, favoreciendo su posicionamiento en diversos cargos políticos y rituales que han sido prerrogativa de los varones. Asumir tales responsabilidades no sólo les garantiza membresía y adscripción al grupo, sino también ciertos espacios de equidad de género, evidenciando así la capacidad que tienen para tomar decisiones sobre un repertorio de elementos culturales propios.

    Abstract: The paper analyzes the way in which rarámuri women, when resorting to the cultural dimension of ethnicity, are opening new spaces for participation in the collective life of the settlements located in the Chihuahua City, favoring their positioning in various political and ritual positions that have been the prerogative of men. Assuming these responsibilities not only guarantees membership and affiliation to the group, but also certain spaces of gender equality, thus demonstrating the ability they have to make decisions about a repertoire of their own cultural elements.
