Resumen de Privatización y regulación de infraestructuras de transporte: Un panorama de las experiencias de los años noventa

Este trabajo analiza los principales logros alcanzados en los últimos años en los procesos de participaciónprivada en infraestructuras de transporte, subrayandosimultáneamente los desafíos más probables a los que se tendrán que enfrentar los fobiernos en su nuevo papel en el sector. El artículo resume las principales transacciones relativas a la privatización de infraestructuras de trnsporte producidas en todo el mundo durante los años noventa y aporta evidencias sobre las formas de participación privada en distintas regiones. El estudio concluye con un análisis de los principales problemas regulatorios del sector.

This study analyses the mainachievements made in the last few years in the process of private participation in transport infrastructure, underlining at the same time the most likely challenges that will have to be faced by governments in theirnew role in the sector. The article summarizes the chief transactions in relation to transport infrastucture privatisation that have taken place throughout the world during the nineties, and furnishes evidence on the forms of private participation in different regions.The study conludes with an analysis of the main regulatory problems of the sector.
