  • The cover story is presented, which examines the health impact of physical activity. Particular focus is given to research finding that exercise does not increase the number of calories burned. Additional topics discussed include human evolution, including the experiences of hunter-gatherers, exercise and calorie-tracking devices including Fitbits, and obesity and its relation to excess calories consumed. Details relating to the Hadza hunter-gatherers in Tanzania and metabolic processes are also offered.
