  • The article examines astrophysical research as of 2017, including growing evidence disproving the inflationary theory of the early cosmos. Particular focus is given to the big bang theory. Additional topics discussed include how cosmologists might reassess how the universe may have began, results on the topic from the satellite Planck and ramifications of the findings at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.
