  • This article discusses research by Tsinghua Foxconn Nanotechnology Research Center in Beijing, China into the development of nanomaterials that generate sound waves by heat expansion. The possibility that these materials can be used as heat sources in addition to speaker systems is explored. This research was published online at the Web site for the journal "Nano Letters" on October 29, 2008.
