This article discusses research indicating that climate change in ninth century China might have caused the fall of the Tang Dynasty. The analysis of a calcium carbonate stalagmite, whose growth patterns indicate historical levels of rainfall in the region, is presented as evidence of changes in climate change. This research was published in the November 7, 2008 issue of the journal "Science."
