    Se analizó el desarrollo neural de la rana dendrobátida Colostethus machalilla, que es endémica a la costa ecuatoriana y deposita sus huevos en la hojarasca. Se realizaron inmunotinciones en montaje entero con anticuerpos neurales específicos.

    Se encontró retardo en el desarrollo neural de C. machalilla en comparación con la rana acuática Xenopus laevis.

    This work studies the neural development of the dendrobatid frog Colostethus machalilla that is endemic to the Ecuadorian coast. It has a terrestrial way of life and it deposits its eggs directly on the ground. Immunostaining in whole embryos was done to study the pattern ofneural molecular markers. The neural development of C. machalilla is retarded in comparlson with the aquatic frog Xenopus laevis.
