    It reports the results of a theoretical exercise on the epistemo-logical challenges of Information Science, from the perspec-tive of the social responsibility of information professionals and in the context of the information regime of a research project in the scientific community within the network socie-ty. It highlights the conceptual thread of social responsibility, which is the central axis in the warp of the conceptual net-work, that is being woven in the interdisciplinary loom of In-formation Science, parallel to the conceptual threads of the space of knowledge, with the consequent new relevance of an old phenomenon, now mediated by digital intellectual tech-nologies, and the hegemony of the information regime over other productive systems. It uses bibliographical research to seek information on the use of the concept of ethical compe-tence in Information Science, as well as in the scientific field, in general. In this context, it discusses the possibility of de-veloping collective intelligence projects based on ethical competence, in communities of social subjects that share the same way of life, in network society.

    Relata resultados de reflexão teórica a propósito dos desafios epistemológicos da Ciência da Informação, na perspectiva da responsabilidade social dos profissionais da informação e no contexto do regime de informação de um projeto de pesquisa na comunidade científica, no âmbito da sociedade em rede. Objetiva destacar o fio conceitual da responsabilidade social, que constitui o atrator conceitual na urdidura da trama da rede que está sendo tecida no tear interdisciplinar da Ciência da Informação, em paralelo com os fios conceituais do espaço do saber e a nova relevância de um fenômeno antigo, agora mediado por tecnologias intelectuais digitais, e a hegemonia do regime de informação sobre os demais sistemas produtivos. Utiliza a pesquisa bibliográfica para buscar informações sobre uso do conceito de competência ética na Ciência da Informação, bem como no campo científico, em geral. Discorre sobre a possibilidade de desenvolvimento de projetos de inteligência coletiva fundamentados na competência ética, em comunidades de sujeitos sociais que compartilham uma mesma forma de vida, na sociedade em rede.
