Resumen de El Catálogo Gallego de Árboles Monumentales: los suplentes

  Desde el año 2006 en el que comenzaron los trabajos de campo relacionados con el Catálogo Galego de Árbores Senlleiras, en el marco de un convenio de colaboración entre la Consellería de Medio Ambiente y la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, se han visitado, medido y fotografiado más de 1100 ejemplares y formaciones por toda la geografía gallega que corresponden a 153 especies. De entre los ejemplares estudiados se han destacado un grupo de 43 individuos o grupos, que corresponden a 25 especies, que deberían ser incluidos en el catálogo por reunir méritos suficientes para ello. Las especies con un mayor número de registros, entre todos los ejemplares estudiados y entre los 43 que se propone incluir en el catálogo son el carballo (Quercus robur L.) y el castaño (Castanea sativa Mill.). La información y los datos obtenidos indican que el futuro del Catálogo Galego de Árbores Senlleiras está asegurado, siendo muchos los ejemplares/formaciones que ya poseen o poseerán en un futuro no lejano los atributos requeridos para formar parte de este selecto grupo.

  Since 2006, when the fieldwork related to the “Catálogo Galego de Árbores Senlleiras” begun, within the framework of a collaboration agreement between the Ministry of Environment and the University of Santiago de Compostela, more than 1100 specimens and formations throughout the Galician geography that correspond to 153 species have been visited, measured and photographed. Among the specimens studied, a group of 43 individuals or groups was highlighted, corresponding to 25 species, which should be included in the catalog because they have sufficient merit. The species with the highest number of records, among all the specimens studied and among the 43 that are proposed to be included in the catalog are the pedunculated oak (Quercus robur L.) and the chestnut (Castanea sativa Mill.). The information and data obtained indicate that the future of the “Catálogo Galego de Árbores Senlleiras” is insured, with many specimens / formations already possessing or will possess in the near future the attributes required to be part of this select group.
