El autoconcepto en alumnos de educación infantil (3-6 años) según el género

    El objetivo de este trabajo es comprobar el nivel de autoconcepto total en la Etapa de Educación Infantil (3-6 años) según el género.

    En este estudio han participado 68 sujetos (32 niñas y 36 niños) cuyas edades oscilaban entre los 3-6 años. Estos datos fueron recogidos en un colegio de Madrid.

    El instrumento utilizado fue la Escala de Percepción del Autoconcepto Infantil (PAI), desarrollado por Villa y Auzmendi (1999) con el objeto de evaluar el constructo general del autoconcepto y diez aspectos constitutivos de la autoestima, elementos muy importantes en dicho período.

    Los resultados obtenidos muestran que las niñas tienen un autoconcepto total menor que los niños. Dando unos valores de 61,41 en niñas y 62,57 en niños. Respecto a la dimensión de sentimientos afectivos se observa que existen diferencias significativas entre los niños y las niñas, teniendo una puntuación más alta los niños.

    The aim of this work is to check the level of complete self- concept in Children’s Education (stage 3-6) based on the gender.

    Sixty-eight individuals have taken part in this study (32 girls and 36 boys) from 3 to 6 years old. These data were gathered at a school in Madrid.

    The instrument that it has been used was The Scale Perception of Child Self- Concept (Escala de Percepción Del Autoconcepto Infantil, PAI).

    This instrument was developed by Villa and Auzmendi (1999) in order to evaluate the general construct of self- concept and ten aspects that form the self- esteem, something very important for children of this age.

    The achieved results show that the girls have a smaller complete self-concept than the boys. The values for girls are 61, 41 and 62, 57 for boys.

    About emotional feelings it can be observed that there are meaningful differences between girls and boys. The boys have a higher score than the girls.
