Resumen de US politicians put own whims above science

Lisa Grossman

  • Grossman remarks on the passage of two bills by the new Republican-led House of Representatives that will effectively remove evidence-based reasoning from the process of drafting new regulations and how they are enforced. The bills could undermine everything from rules about clean water to the Endangered Species Act although both bills must still clear the Senate to become law. The passage of both acts doesn't bode well, Congressional zeal to strip science out of the rule-making process is part of a larger global trend: replacing scientific expertise with the vagaries of politics.
