    Con el advenimiento de la modernidad la noche queda reducida a un tiempo inútil sin sentido simbólico. El artículo ofrece una breve presentación que tienen al canto del gallo como protagonista y que nos permite comprender el sentido de las vigilias y la súplica cristiana nocturna. Además de pedir la protección divina, el tiempo de la noche también puede ser un momento de encuentro con Dios y revelación.

    With the advent of the modernity the night is reduced to a useless time without any symbolic sense. The article offers a brief presentation centered on the rooster's crowing (that is the break of the dawn) and broadens our understanding of the sense of the vigils and the Christian nocturnal supplication. In addition to requesting the divine protection, the night can also be a moment of meeting with God and revelation.
