    El siglo XX es un siglo problemático de abordar, dado que no parece haber unanimidad en torno a su delimitación. Una tesis muy llamativa a este respecto ha sido la del historiador británico Eric Hobsbawm, que concibe al siglo XX como un siglo corto, que comienza con la I Guerra Mundial y concluye con la disolución de la Unión Soviética y por ende, con el fin de la Guerra Fría. Esta delimitación resulta insuficiente. Para el autor, una delimitación y, por consiguiente, una interpretación, más fecunda del siglo XX comienza por poner en entredicho las interpretaciones eurocéntricas de la historia.Realidad: Revista de Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades No. 108, 2006: 251-272

    The 20th century is problematic, given the lack of unanimity regarding its delimitation. A very suggestive thesis on this issue comes from the British historian Eric Hobsbawm, who conceives the 20th century as a short century, starting with the World War First and ending with the dissolution of the Soviet Union and, thus, with the end of Cold War. This delimitation is unsatisfactory. According with the author, a more fecund delimitation and, therefore, interpretation of the 20th century, must start questioning the eurocentric interpretations of history.
