  • Resumen
    • With its multi-way political, economic and cultural processes, Globalisation becomes one of the most discussed topics across various disciplines, and which has directly impacted both individuals and societies. Discussions on issues related to Globalisation on the other hand, cannot be completed without a reference to language influence and the reinforcement of the status of English as an international lingua franca. Because of the growing world supremacy of English and its expansion around the world, many individuals as a result, have found the interest in learning and using it to catch up its rapid universal implicatures. Learning English at that level, is primarily the focus of different attitudinal ambivalences linked to many socio-economic variables. In an effort to clarify these posts, I have undertaken a study which examines the role of English within a particular community of EFL university students in Algeria and to find out their different attitudes and perceptions towards the importance of English.
