  • There are different approaches to the perception of improvement within the maritime sector, shipping and shipbuilding, depending if we are looking from the East or from the West.

    The understanding of what is strategic in the long term, shows also different points of view, and some behavior following targeted national industrial policies is marking the development of the main Asian competition. The figures proved it very clearly.

    In a second part, the article review at a glance, the value of the total European shipbuilding industry and advocate the need of a holistic strategy in the EU.
