Resumen de Dividir a História: da epistemologia à política?

Historiography ends up to play a political role of relief, and its pro domo manipulations are frequent. In what extent the historical vision changes about historical periods and epochs will have political implications? This may not be very evident. But, surely, favour this or that event as a landmark, or abandon that time in the shadows, or underlining the autonomy of this or that period, putting it in relief, will not fail to have political consequences. This article recalls some time division issues, and some challenges posed by new proposals and perspectives. Looking to be aware of a possible political reading of this historiographical dimension.

A Historiografia acaba por desempenhar papel político de relevo, e as suas manipulações pro domo são frequentes. Em que medida as mudanças de visão das épocas históricas terão implicações políticas? Tal pode não ser muito evidente. Mas certamente que privilegiar este ou aquele evento como marco fraturante, ou abandonar aquela época na penumbra, ou autonomizar este ou aquele período, pondo‑o em relevo, não deixará de ter consequências políticas. Este artigo relembra algumas questões de periodologia, e alguns desafios colocados por novas propostas e perspetivas.
