Creación de recursos digitales interactivos y su aplicación en materias del grado de Bellas Artes y Diseño

    En el grupo Metodologías docentes y TIC (MEDTIC) estamos trabajando en el desarrollo de líneas temporales interactivas que faciliten el proceso de enseñanza/aprendizaje en las asignaturas «Técnicas de expresión en idioma moderno (inglés)», «Fotografía, Fotografía y vídeo» y «Diseño y web», del Grado en Bellas Artes, y en «Técnicas de expresión en idioma moderno (inglés)», del Grado en Diseño. Desde un enfoque multidisciplinar fundamentado en la colaboración de docentes de distintas áreas, se ha planteado un doble objetivo. Por un lado, se han identificado contenidos susceptibles de ser presentados a los alumnos mediante líneas de tiempo, y se han generado los correspondientes materiales digitales interactivos usando la herramienta de software libre Timeline JS, de Knightlab.

    Por otro, también se ha propuesto a los estudiantes que ellos mismos utilicen dicha herramienta para crear ese tipo de recursos de manera colaborativa. En ambos casos se ha analizado, a través de pruebas objetivas y cuestionarios, la eficacia y la capacidad motivadora de las líneas de tiempo desarrolladas, con resultados globalmente satisfactorios. Estos recursos interactivos, al estar basados en tecnología web y tener un carácter modular autónomo, son aptos para su visualización a través de un smartphone y son plenamente compatibles con las aulas virtuales. Asimismo, se pueden integrar en otros materiales digitales que ya hemos creado (como un glosario bilingüe de Fotografía para dispositivos móviles) o que podamos desarrollar en el futuro. Se propicia así la compartición de recursos abiertos reutilizables en otros contextos y, además, la metodología empleada resulta fácilmente extrapolable a otras materias.

    In the group Teaching methodologies and ICT (MEDTIC) we are working on the development of interactive timelines aimed at facilitating the teaching/learning process in the subjects ‘Communicative skills in English for the Arts”, “Photography”, “Photography and video” and “Design and the web”, belonging to the degree in Fine Arts, and in “Communicative skills in English for Design”, within the degree in Design. Taking a multidisciplinary approach based on the collaboration among teachers from different areas, this project has a twofold objective. In the first place, we have identified contents amenable to be presented to the students by means of timelines, and we have generated the corresponding interactive digital materials using the free tool Timeline JS, offered by Knightlab. Secondly, we have also asked the students to use that tool themselves to create this kind of resource in a collaborative manner. In both cases we have analyzed, through surveys and objective tests, the motivational capacity and the efficacy of the timelines employed in the project, obtaining overall positive results. These interactive resources, being modular and based on web technology, are apt to be viewed through a smartphone and are wholly compatible with our virtual classrooms. Moreover, they can be integrated within other digital materials that we have previously created (such as a bilingual Photography glossary for mobile devices) or that we could create in the future.

    This is a good way of sharing open resources reusable in different contexts and, furthermore, the methodology employed is easily transferable to other subjects.
