A new method is proposed for the determination of the main fatty acids that compose fats, after their neutralization with KOH solution, precipitating with a excesses of standard solution of Pb(II) and tritration of the excess of PB(II) in the filtrate with EDTA solution of identical molarity, using Eriochrome Black T as indicator. The errors found are small for lauric, myristic, palmitic, stearic and oleic acids for concetration of 0.05 M and 0.02 M.
