Resumen de La política agraria común y sus efectos en la convergencia real de España y la Unión Europea

El artículo estudia los efecto de la reforma de la PAC (Política Agraria Común) en la convergencia real de España en la Unión Europea desde la integración española en la CE (Comunidad Europea) hasta el presente.Seplantean dos preguntas básicas: Primera: ¿Se han aproximado los precios agrarios españoles a los niveles europeos?, y segunda: ¿El diferencial de renta agraria se ha reducido?Los resultados del trabajon muestran que la agricultura se ha vuelto muy sensible a la política macroeconómica, creciendo la renta real cuando la peseta se depreció a raiz de la tormenta monetaria y más recientemente cuando la inflación se redujo.

This paper studies the effects of the CAP (Common Agricultural Policy) reform on Spain's real convergence with the European Union from the time of its entry into the Community to the present. Two basic questions are addressed: first, whether Spanish agricultural prices have caught up with EU levels, and, second, whether the gap between real agricultural income between Spain and the EU has been narrowed. The results of the analysis showthat the agricultural sector has become very sensitive to macroeconomic policy and that real income improved with the peseta's depreciation during the monetary crisis and, more recently, with the decline in inflation.
