  • Resumen
    • More than a third of people in the UK have a family member or friend with dementia, and it's a similar story elsewhere in the developed world. Globally, 1 in 20 people over 60 lives with the condition. And thanks to their longer lifespans, those numbers are expected to soar. The figures are alarming, as are the stories of people who have experienced dementia. But these testimonies help them understand it. And knowledge is power. Dementia is not an inescapable result of ageing, and they are making inroads against it. Here, Sukel discusses the cause of dementia, its prevention, and the best care for dementia patients.
