  • Brooks presents several future implausible developments. Among others, Stephen Hawking has declared that people should start colonizing other planets as soon as possible, and last year billionaire venture capitalist Elon Musk announced plans to establish a Mars colony in the 2020s. Furthermore, some argue human cloning could "resurrect" a lost child, or be a source of organs or tissue for someone with an incurable illness. Ethically speaking, it's a minefield, but there are many technical hurdles, too. Cloning is hard to perfect and live births are elusive.
