    El presente artículo tiene como objetivo analizar el pensamiento de Michel Foucault en torno al sujeto y la ética y su vínculo con la modernidad. Para establecer esa relación se analiza las categorías focultianas de saber, poder y gobernabilidad.  El saber y el  poder se organizan para someter la conducta de los sujetos; mientras la gobernabilidad debe ser analizada en dos vías; desde las prácticas de subjetivación, es decir, como un espacio en el cual se deben descubrir las significaciones originarias y en la cual se funda el sujeto; y por la desubjetivación mediante el cual, el sujeto ya no es el mismo, se desprende de sí,  para convertirse en otro sujeto.

    ABSTRACThe objective of this article is to analyze Michel Foucault's thought about the subject and ethics and its link with modernity. To establish this relationship, we analyze the Focultian categories of knowledge, power and governability. Knowledge and power are organized to subject the behavior of the subjects; while governance must be analyzed in two ways; from the practices of subjectivation, that is, as a space in which the original significations must be discovered and on which the subject is founded; and by the desubjectivation by means of which the subject is no longer the same, detached from himself, to become another subject.
