  • Resumen
    • The Paris climate agreement's goal of limiting warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial times could be breached within a decade. The agreement, signed in Dec 2015, commits nations to keeping warming to "well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels and to pursue efforts to limit the temperature increase to 1.5°C." A new analysis now says people could exceed that limit as early as 2026. "By showing the proximity of the 1.5°C level, it should be seen as a wake-up call for governments and a catalyst for strong action," says Benjamin Henley at the University of Melbourne, Australia.
