The article presents the authors' reflections and opinions regarding the process of editing a scholastic research handbook. Comments are given discussing the various challenges and logistical tasks which face an academic editor. Discussion is also provided outlining the professional benefits and personal rewards inherent in accomplishing the same. Anecdotes are made relating the authors' personal experiences producing the "Handbook of Second Language Acquisition," published by Blackwell.
