  • The article presents news briefs related to the study and teaching of modern languages, including discussions of events, awards, and professional announcements. Topics addressed include a conference of the American Association of Applied Corpus Linguistics (AACL) held September 26-28, 2014; the launch of a redesigned website for the Fulbright Scholar program, located at www.cies.org; and dissertation support awards for language researchers Maria Carolina Bustamente and Kaitlyn Tagarelli.
