  • The article provides news briefs related to language education and linguistics as of the summer 2013. The U.S. Department of State created the Open Book project in collaboration with the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization to expand access to educational resources in Arabic. The American Association of Teachers of German (AATG) created Centers of Excellence, a program that recognizes noteworthy German education systems. The Texas Czech Dialectal Archive will present an online repository of audio recordings from Czech Moravians in Texas.
