  • The article presents several sections of news related to the field of language learning as well as the journal's submission guidelines. A calendar of events for 2011 and 2012 is presented that includes several conferences, symposia, and seminars on language learning. The article announces that several scholars received awards for research related to language learning, including Joshua Fishman and Claire Kramsch. It also announces the introduction of a Master's degree in Applied Second Language Acquisition at Carnegie Mellon University, the Center for Korean Studies at Binghamton University, and the Advanced Placement (AP) Program in Italian Language and Culture by the College Board (CB).
