  • The article discusses the Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut, particularly the educational opportunities that it provides to foreign language student teachers. The program provides its students with time to observe classes in different school districts and in different disciplines in order to learn teaching methods and classroom management techniques. The graduate program's focus on observation and on exposing its student teachers to different kinds of foreign language instruction is emphasized. Student teachers in the program help to organize special events, grade papers, and tutor students at the schools to which they are assigned.
