  • Cancers can grow quickly and slowly; some even vanish on their own. There are the bird cancers, which have already spread before tests notice them; the rabbit cancers, which can be treated before they spread if caught early; and the turtle cancers, which never spread. Diagnostic tests are becoming too good for our own good, warns H. Gilbert Welch, who believes it is time to reassess what medicine is for.
