This paper analyzes Jessica Benjamin's seminal work, Beyond doer and done to. Recognition theory, intersubjectivity and the third with particular emphasis on the moral third, which is compared – similarities and differences- to others theoretical formulations of the Third. The application of Benjamin's Moral Third to psychoanalytic psychotherapy is proposed, thus departing from classical theory's one-person psychology towards a firmly established two-person psychology. Correlations are made between Jessica Benjamin's contributions and certain aspects of the author’s work, including the centrality of gendered look, in order to better understand parentality and women and mother´s subjectivity
