    The objective of this research is to carry out an exploratory analysis of the fresh grapeexport market and the potential of biological control in the vineyards of Peru. The freshgrape has become one of the main Peruvian agricultural products of non-traditionalexport. The gradual increase of the production, yield per hectare, fulfillment of standards,growth of demand and learning of the exporting firms; they have achieved a position in theinternational market. On the other hand, the sustainability of the sector deserves to beoriented toward increasing the level of use of biological control to combat pests andcompete globally, aligned with trends toward a socially responsible consumption whichinvolves consuming healthy fruits, friendly to the environment and that meet the standards,in accordance with the maximum pesticide residue limits allowed.     Esta investigación tiene como objetivo realizar un análisis exploratorio delmercado exportador de uva fresca y el potencial del control biológico en los viñedos delPerú. La uva fresca se ha convertido en uno de los principales productos agrícolasperuanos de exportación no tradicional. El aumento gradual de la producción, elrendimiento por hectárea, el cumplimiento de estándares, el crecimiento de la demanda y elaprendizaje de las firmas exportadoras; han logrado un posicionamiento en el mercadointernacional. Por otro lado, la sostenibilidad del sector merece orientarse a incrementar elnivel de utilización del control biológico para combatir las plagas y competir globalmente,alineado con las tendencias hacia un consumo socialmente responsable que implicaconsumir frutas saludables, amigables con el ambiente y que cumplan los estándares, deacuerdo con los límites máximos de residuos de pesticidas permitidos. La carencia deinvestigaciones que vinculen las exportaciones de uva fresca con el uso del controlbiológico motivó el presente artículo.
