    The Vietnam War (also known as the Second Indochina War) is a war between the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (or North Vietnam) and its Vietnamese People's Army supported materially by the bloc. of the East and the People's Republic of China and the National Front for the Liberation of Vietnam (or Viet Cong), as well as the Republic of Vietnam (or South Vietnam), militarily supported by the United States Army from 1964, following incidents in the Gulf of Tonkin by several allies (Australia, South Korea, Thailand, Philippines).

    La guerre du Viêt-Nam (aussi appelée deuxième guerre d'Indochine) est une guerre qui a opposé d'une part la République démocratique du Viêt-Nam (ou Nord-Viêt-Nam) et son Armée populaire vietnamienne soutenue matériellement par le bloc de l'Est et la République populaire de Chine et le Front national pour la libération du Viêt-Nam (ou Viet Cong), face à, d'autre part, la République du Viêt-Nam (ou Sud-Viêt-Nam), militairement soutenue par l'armée des Etats-Unis à partir de 1964, à la suite des incidents du golfe du Tonkin par plusieurs alliés (Australie, Corée du Sud, Thaïlande, Philippines).
