El valor de las arquitecturas menores: Los molinos hidráulicos del Parque Natural Sierra de Grazalema en la Sierra de Cádiz

    Las arquitecturas rurales productivas aúnan relevancia cultural y tradición, aunque en la actualidad se consideren menores y se mantengan inactivas o en ruinas. Los molinos hidráulicos del Parque Natural Sierra de Grazalema han quedado al margen de la valoración y protección oficial por parte de las Administraciones. Poner en valor estas arquitecturas es el objetivo general del artículo. Para ello, se parte del estudio geográfico, histórico y patrimonial de la Sierra de Cádiz (comarca en la que se inserta el Parque Natural). Se continúa con el análisis y la ubicación de la arquitectura molinar en el Parque Natural Sierra de Grazalema para conocer, más pormenorizadamente, estas obras de ingeniería hidráulica. Desde la idea del “saber artesanal” que propone Richard Sennett en El artesano, se completa la investigación con un análisis sobre la localización de los molinos y su interacción con el medio físico, la indagación sobre la influencia de las construcciones rurales en otras arquitecturas del siglo XX para, finalmente, desvelar valores que, junto al patrimonial que poseen los molinos hidráulicos, puedan conducir a posibles acciones de protección y reactivación.

    The productive rural architectures combine cultural relevance and tradition, although at present they are considered minor architectures and they remain inactive or in ruins. This is the case of the hydraulic mills of the Parque Natural Sierra de Grazalema which have been left out of the valuation and the official protection by Administrations. Valuing these architectures is the general objective of the paper. For it, we start with a geographic, historical and heritage study of the Sierra de Cádiz (the region in which the Parque Natural is located). We continue with the analysis and location of the mills architectures in the Parque Natural Sierra de Grazalema to know more about these hydraulic engineering works. From the idea of "foundation of craftsmanship" proposed by Richard Sennett in The craftsman, the investigation is completed with an analysis of the location of the mills and their interaction with the physical environment, the questions about the influence of rural buildings on other 20th Century architectures for, finally, to open up other types of values that, together with the heritage ones, have hydraulic mills and can lead to possible protection and reactivation actions.
